Scouting is a comprehensive youth program for boys (ages
6-18 years) and young adults (co-ed, ages 4-21 years)
aimed at serving others by helping instill the qualities
of good character, responsibility, citizenship and personal
fitness.
Programs:
Tiger
Cubs - is a school year program for 1st grade
(or age 7) boys and their adult partners. It stresses
simplicity, shared leadership, learning about the community
and understanding the family.
Cub Scouting - is for boys in 2nd through
5th grade (ages 8, 9, & 10). It is a family and home
centered program. Fifth grad boys are called "Webelos"
Scouts, which stands for "We'll Be Loyal Scouts"
Boys Scouting - is for boys who have
completed the 5th grade, through age 17. The program
is designed to achieve the aims of Scouting through a
vigorous outdoor program and peer group leadership with
the counsel of an adult Scoutmaster.
Exploring - is for young men and women,
ages 14 through 20. Through its charger partners, it provides
young people the opportunity to explore career fields
through classroom learning hands-on participation and
mentoring. Examples of Explorer posts include those associated
with police and fire departments, hospitals and rescue
units.
Venturing - is for young men and women
ages 14 through 20. It is organized to provide positive
experiences through exciting and meaningful activities
that help youth pursue their special interests, to develop
leadership skills and to become good citizens.
