Community
Impact initiatives are efforts explicitly designed to
improve lives by mobilizing strategic resources to bring
about lasting improvements in community conditions. The
United Way is playing a defined role that builds on its
organizational strengths and relationships to contribute
to the initiative’s success. A strategic community
impact initiative:
• Aligns with organizational priorities and focuses on an
issue
• Is a partnership where partners are sharing responsibility
and accountability for the initiative’s success
• Is outcome focused and results oriented
• Pursues community change by targeting specific
improvements and benefits
