Girl
Scouts builds girls of courage, confidence and character,
who make the world a better place!
Through
regular troop meetings, community-wide events, and council
events the Girl Scout Program concentrates on achieving
four program goals:
-
Girls
will develop to their full potential.
-
Girls will relate to others with increasing understanding,
skill, and respect.
-
Girls will develop a meaningful set of values to guide
their actions and to provide the foundation for sound
decision-making.
-
Girls will contribute to the improvement of society
through the use of their abilities and leadership
skills, working in cooperation with others.
The
majority of girls choose to participate in Girl Scouting
through a troop setting, however they may also register
as individual members called Juliettes. The girls are
grouped by four age levels: Daisies in kindergarten,
Brownies in first through third grades, Juniors in fourth
through sixth grades, and girls ages 11 – 17.
